The majority of our work in based in the Metro Vancouver Area with various larger projects throughout the province. Currently, an opportunity exists for an Estimator to join our team of highly skilled, ambitious and loyal personnel. We are currently seeking an Estimator with 3 or more years of experience, however we are willing to train the right person.

Our Estimators perform the full scope of estimating duties from pre-construction bids to completion of project.

As an Estimator you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing & coordinating estimates for tenders
  • Prepare complete quantity takeoff based on scope of work
  • Monitor all changes in scope during the estimate period
  • Select vendors and/or subcontractors and determine costs
  • Consult with vendors and clients to discuss alternate approved materials
  • Search, analyze & communicate options for the most effective means & methods of construction
  • Attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  • Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality and availability of materials
  • Work with Project Managers on awarded contracts – estimating extra work items, change orders & credits
  • Upon project completion, meet with Project Manager, Site Superintendent & Foreman to discuss positive and negative aspects of project to determine areas for improvement
  • Compile budget and crew summaries

Successful candidates will have:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of Heavy Bid, Planswift, Word and Excel
  • An understanding of Heavy Civil Construction methodologies is an asset
